Challenges
- • We have carried out & developed expertise in radiography of Tube To Tube Sheet Joints. Se 75 / Ir 192 isotope of extremely small source size and perforated films were used to get radiographs of acceptable quality
- • We have successfully carried out radiography on series of joints of layered vessel of total thickness 260 mm at L&T Powai using Co - 60 source
- • At L&T, Kudankulam Nuclear Plant we have tested high temperature weld joints (300C) using Ir 192 isotope. Special arrangements were made to keep the film holder cool during the exposure time
- • We have been successfully carrying out radiography in IGCAR and BARC Cell sites having high background radiation. Especially care was taken in additional training of radiographers and precaution for protection against external contamination & high background radiation
- • Ultrasonic flaw detection and thickness measurement of on stream plant process piping was done by us in Reliance Industries and on cement kilns for Ambuja Cements Ltd. We used on the job high temperature probes, cables, connectors, couplant and used calibration blocks at simulated temperature
- • First time in India, We have successfully demonstrated & performed PAUT of 70% Ni weld of ethylene tank for L & T Ltd. at RIL Dahej
- • Radiography with CPR (closed proximity radiography) system using high strength Se source, thus enabling the main Contactors work to continue beyond 5 meters
- • Successfully performing CR (computed radiography) replacing films, resulting in safer working conditions, digital viewing & archiving
